Edward Love is a New York born abstract, non-representational painter. Educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he earned a BFA in Accessory Design and a BFA in Illustration. His early career spanned textile, furniture and interior design. His career then evolved into a focused painting practice ten years ago. Love’s work gained rapid recognition as leading architects and designers (Tony Ingrao, Clodagh, Daniel Ramualdez, Elsa Soyars, Dominick Rotondi and several others) began collecting and commissioning bespoke works. His work is centered on the expressive potential of color layering, be it mark making, dots or other means to create satisfying visual depth. A first glance of his work can then slowly reveal multiple layers of color underneath. He works from his studio in Greenpoint Brooklyn, where scheduled appointments are welcomed.
